Sub-Machine Gun Study by AlexPenn-AND-Paper Sub-Machine Gun Study by AlexPenn-AND-Paper
Modeled in Hexagon 2, rendered in Lightwave 9.

Loosely based off of an Olympic Arms OA-93 pistol but with a lot of heavy modifications.

Ok, that's good... you bought Hex for the same reasons as I did! It is quite nice and intuitive to use.

Your technique seems to be coming along very nicely (you certainly have me beat ;) ) - you have a good sense of realism and a great eye for detail. I certainly look forward to seeing more, and also to seeing some of your work for sale :)

Great looking model. There's some awesome detailing in there. Do you sell your creations at all? They're better than many I have seen for sale!

I'm curious as to why you choose Hexagon over something like ZBrush or 3ds Max. I have Hex and Max, so I am just wondering what your personal reasons are :)

Thanks for the great comments and feedback, I'm not selling any of the models at this time but I'm considering doing so in the near future, Right now I'm still working on developing my technique and learning new software, which brings me to your second question. The reason I mostly use Hexagon for most of my work right now, is its easy of use, simple interface and powerful features, I find programs such as 3D Studio Max and LW are more complex and difficult to master, I will eventually get in to those programs as well, as there is no way around it. but for now I will see how far i can push Hexagon. I will definitely have some high quality models up for sale in the near future and perhaps throw some freebies in there from time to time too.
